Dr, James Stewart

Dr. James Brewer Stewart: Dr. Stewart is James Wallace Professor Emeritus of History at Macalester College in St. Paul Minnesota. He is also Founder of Historians Against Slavery (HAS) an international network of scholars, activists and students that is dedicated to promoting antislavery awareness, knowledge commitment and activism. It's fast-expanding network of on-campus antislavery organizations currently involves 25 colleges and universities. Professor Stewart, frequently referred to by other historians as "the dean of abolitionist studies" has published five books on the American antislavery movement, has edited six others and has published over 50 articles on this subject.
