Sue Snyder Pederson: Sue is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner in Austin, Texas, with extensive experience in counseling people with domestic violence and/or sexual assault/abuse issues. In 2007 she began training in Somatic Experiencing, adding the understanding of importance of the somatic to her previous foundation in feminist relational theory and other strength based models. The additional element of the Somatic Experiencing training has enabled her to deepen the work with people who have experienced trauma, fitting well with the trauma informed care framework. Sue worked for nearly ten years in a domestic violence shelter in Pennsylvania and twenty-one years with SafePlace in Austin. She is a SE consult and session provider and has assisted with training teams in Texas, California, Florida, and Melbourne, Australia. In addition to the SEP training she has post advanced certification in Bodywork and Somatic Education for trauma therapists, has completed a series Somatic Resilience and Regulation after Early Trauma, and has attended Master Classes taught by Dr. Peter Levine. Sue currently is in private practice in Austin as a somatic psychotherapist and board approved clinical supervisor for social workers.
